Winter times

A weather camera in Oulu this morning:

No, that is not fog, it’s snow on the lens. I don’t care what people tell me, I think it’s cold and I don’t like it. Especially when its wet, heavy and jumping at my face on high velocity.

(Yes, yes, I know. I shouldn’t use “don’t” or “it’s” in writing.)

Nah, using abbreviations in unofficial writing is just ok. In academic or otherwise “official” text you shouldn’t use the shorter versions. ;)

Use “don’t” and “it’s” as much as you like, as blog text doesn’t need to adhere to formalities. It’s not a thesis you’re writing here, right?

And I agree with you wholeheartedly: winter, especially the beginning and the end of it, sucks. Hell, the middle part sucks too. Sucks!

You are both right, this is not a formal or official text. I just wanted to save my reputation as a language purist :)
